Yes - your gal made it to the FROW. And on her first try as well.

Let's switch it back to the first person now and then take a step backwards to last Saturday night, where me and my pals were sitting on the front row of a studio in Birmingham waiting for El Monét's debut collection for A/W to saunter down the catwalk.

For those of you wondering just who TF El Monét is, allow me to enlighten you briefly...

El Monét is a brand new British fashion brand serving women's fashion with a modern edge (or so I thought).

For the most part, I think I can let the pictures do the talking. This collection is undoubtedly feminine and modern but with a definite edge. By cutting the shirt dresses until they're cheekily high and adding red bomber sleeves to a classic black jumpsuit, Chanel Monét proved that she was a designer who knows what attracts the modern woman. Not only were the garments unique and appealing, but the styling of each garment allowed the mind to roam free, full of possibility. Boxy dresses paired with fishnet thigh stockings? Pencil skirt and jacket suit worn over a sporty bralet? Why not? If nothing else, fashion right now is all about capturing the imagination, and what better way to do so than playing with the ever-popular juxtaposition of formality and athleisure?
